How you can help prevent crime in Nottinghamshire
with sponsorship opportunities at the Galleries of Justice Museum
The Galleries of Justice Museum is a Museum of Crime and Punishment and a popular family visitor attraction in the centre of Nottingham. Based at Nottingham’s old courthouse and gaol, it houses original caves, dungeons, an original Police Station together with grand and unique banquet rooms perfect for hosting celebrations and corporate events.
The Museum is also home to the education team, the National Centre for Citizenship and the Law (NCCL) It has been proven that learning outside of the classroom has enormous benefit and we passionately believe and have evidence that we make a difference to the young people of Nottingham.
Together the Museum and NCCL are the Egalitarian Trust. The trust is a charitable, non profit making organisation. The Museum is an independent organisation and receives no funding and therefore we rely on visitor, corporate and tenant income as well as sponsorship to enable us to fund the running of the museum, the protection of it’s collection, and new exhibitions.
The NCCL receive occasional funding to deliver activities to a small number of schools but that funding does not stretch to all schools and many of the schools that most need the facility cannot afford to pay. Sadly, over the
last 12 months funding cuts have meant that many projects have stopped.
“Help a Nottinghamshire Child” (HNC) is our fundraising campaign whose objective is to bridge the gap. It aims to raise enough money to fund all pupils in Nottinghamshire Schools, both primary and secondary, to experience
the educational programme offered by NCCL and therefore contribute to a reduction in crime in Nottinghamshire.
So how can you help?
There are many opportunities available:
1. Become a corporate sponsor and have the opportunity to use our services at a heavily discounted rate (see appendix 1) The funds raised in this way will help maintain the museum and it’s services PLUS 20% of the sponsorship will be donated to HNC. Depending on the package chosen you can also benefit from extensive marketing (circa 50,000 visitors a year and a massive leaflet distribution)
2. Donate to HNC and either allow us to choose the schools that benefit from your donation or nominate a school of your choice to benefit from the NCCL programme. Just £10 per child will enable us to reach children that would not normally be able to visit
3. Name us as your charity of the year and fundraise for HNC on our behalf.
4. Agree a bespoke sponsorship package that will meet your company objectives by combining all three.
